After five years of growing hot peppers and experimenting with capsaicin extractions, including (twenty months ago) suffering a traumatic brain injury, I believe strongly that the following statement is true: “Capsaicin plays a unique (direct and indirect) role in brain health, cognition, and mental health. It acts directly on neural receptors and indirectly through metabolic and gut-brain pathways to influence mood, memory and neuroprotection.” AI
Having felt a reversal of the ill effects of traumatic brain injury, with the help of pepper therapy, I’ve come to see how those with ‘mild cognitive impairment’ can also be benefitted, with proper dosing and application of pepper therapy.
This just in, according to AI: “The regular activation of TRPV1 channels shows strong potential to reduce the risk of vascular dementia. When activated by agonists like capsaicin it triggers protective mechanisms that directly counter the causes of vascular dementia.”
